Maintaining Balance in Today’s World

The days seem longer, don’t they, when there is chaos in the world, and we dwell on it?

Life has a tendency to get right in your face sometimes, doesn’t it? It’s hard to separate yourself from the confusion and conflicts of society, but you can find a way.

We are mostly water, mostly part of the oceans, streams and rivers. If we think of ourselves as water, moving, flowing liquid, always gently passing around and through the obstacles of life, we can be the most satisfied. When we think of ourselves as land, and we sit, still and immutable, never changing, never willing to shift and adjust, we will feel uncomfortable.

All life forms are rivers, moving waters of peace and harmony; flowing and adjusting, never being perfectly still, no matter what we really think.

Rivers are never still, are they? They are always moving; always shifting and adjusting.

So when does chaos show up?

When rigidity sets in. When water starts bouncing off itself, or spinning like a maelstrom.

All harmony is movement. Peace is in the river’s flow.

Meditate on the water within your body. Meditate on its movement. Focus your mind on the fluidity of life, all life.

Don’t linger and become stuck with those who are not flowing with the tides.

Concentrate on the Moon. Get in touch with Her cycles. Do not become mired in darkness and the seemingly material world.

Flow with the water. Concentrate on the water.

When fear settles in, close your eyes and in your mind lean back and float, as if you are in Salt water. You are drifting on the Mother’s tears then. Not tears of sorrow, simply tears of life, in all its forms.

Flow with the river of life.

Feel the Mother around you. Feel Her support your weight.

Relax, and let it all go.
